Terrain & Hazards
The battlefield in Wizards and Warlords weekly games includes interactive terrain elements designed to add strategy, immersion, and danger to every encounter. Players are expected to respect and follow all terrain rules to ensure safety and fairness.
1. Terrain Pieces
[edit]1.1. Walls
[edit]Walls are solid obstacles that block physical and magical attacks, and sometimes line of sight.
- Do not run into, climb, or move walls during play.
- Do not strike blindly around or through walls, this can be unsafe.
Some walls include windows and doorways:
- Doorways may be used normally.
- Windows may not be used to pass through or strike through.
Low Walls:
- Can be fought over.
- Do not block line of sight of spells.
- Cannot be climbed over.
- For safety you cannot crouch behind low walls.
Treat all wall structures with caution and respect.
1.2. Palisades
[edit]Palisades are sharpened defensive barricades. These are simulated using foam pool noodles.
Palisades function to block movement and line of sight. They can be fought over as normal but touching the pointed part of a palisade results in 2 HP of damage.
Players should avoid leaning, pushing, or attempting to climb over palisades.
2. Hazards
[edit]Certain areas of the battlefield may be designated as hazards. Hazards are marked using coloured material and represent environmental dangers.
Any player who steps onto a hazard is immediately considered Downed.
2.1. Water Hazards
[edit]Water hazards are marked with blue material and represent deep water.
2.2. Pit Hazards
[edit]Pit hazards are marked with brown material and represent deep pits, chasms, or similar dangers.
